Has anyone else got or given an Anki Vector for Christmas? My folks at work got me one. It’s interesting, but seems limited in what it can do. It kind of just scuttles around and beeps. I’d like to be able to drive it around directly, but the controls don’t allow for that. Anyone else played with one?

I think you could write your own stuff if so inclined. I haven't really looked because products like it aren't my thing.

Apparently it’s basically a “personal home assistant” with half of its processing time dedicated to skittering around on a table rather than being stationary like an Echo or GHome.

It’s a sad time we live in when a personal assistant is something that can’t even open the refrigerator and fetch a beer.

The way I figure it, its Anki’s gimmick to get into the listening speaking data collection game.

If it can’t fix my car for me it’s not good enough.
Beer-fetching robot would be a good start though.

I did think that it would be good for getting stuff from under the car and I iging the chassis. Sadly, I can’t make it do that.

Had the same thought.

The technically dumber Cosmo version has this functionality via the app so I’d imagine that you can do the same with this.
